A Kearney, Nebraska police officer shot and killed a mountain lion after it was spotted wandering through several residents' backyards.

Residents of Southwest Kearney, Nebraska spotted a large mountain lion wandering through their backyards one morning around the time when most people were leaving for work or school. Kearney Police Officer Jolissa May-Werner shot and killed the animal, and it was later transferred to a non-game biologist in Lincoln.
