The wolf hunting debate rages on in several states, but Idaho hunters are already in the field, bagging a reported 16 wolves so far statewide.

The most recent kill was a 100-pound female, taken with a compound bow.

Due to the strong impact of wolves preying on elk and other species, the state hopes to reduce its wolf population by more than 188 animals.
