HiViz Shooting Systems to Leave Colorado

The company has reportedly entered negotiations with a neighboring state in response to Colorado's new gun control legislation.

HiViz Shooting Systems has announced its plans to relocate its operations out of Colorado in response to the passage of the state's new gun control legislation. The company is most known for its production of light-gathering sights, recoil pads and other accessories for the shooting industry.

Phillip Howe, the company's President and CEO, said that talks are underway with officials from a neighboring state that's interested in becoming HiViz's new home.

""I make this announcement with mixed emotions," Howe said. "Colorado is a beautiful state with great people, but we cannot in clear conscience support with our taxes a state that has proven through recent legislation a willingness to infringe upon the constitutional rights of our customer base."

Howe said that he made several attempts to persuade state officials to proceed slowly with gun control legislation that would impact individual shooters and the shooting industry as a whole.

Starting with the company's corporate headquarters, the operations will be moved over an extended period of time to ensure that there's no interruption of services. HiViz has said that the majority of its employees will make the move with the corporate operations.

More details regarding the company's new location will be announced when the details are finalized.

Unfortunately Colorado has made its decision in apparent opposition to the state's citizens. Now they must live with these industries leaving. I cannot blame HiViz or Magpul for leaving.
