7/7/2011 After heavy spring flooding, the Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries Commission has revised the state's 2011-2012 deer season dates for certain impacted areas. The emergency action was called for following reports of high deer mortality rates along the Mississippi River due to the historic flooding in May. All deer hunting revisions will become effective August 1, 2011. For more information, go to wlf.louisiana.gov.
