Residents of a Boulder, Colo., community have filed numerous complaints about the use of a machine called the Rodenator to handle a prairie dog problem in a bordering county. The Rodenator, which pumps propane into prairie dog burrows and then ignites the gas, causes loud "booms," rattles windows and disrupts homeowners. The machine is illegal in Boulder, but legal in the bordering county.
