Bass Pro Shops Hosting Labor Day Festival on Aug. 31 and Sept. 1

This Labor Day weekend Bass Pro Shops is hosting the Labor Day Hometown Festival at 54 different locations.

This Labor Day weekend Bass Pro Shops is hosting the Labor Day Hometown Festival. The free family event occurs Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 31 and Sept. 1 from noon to 5 p.m. at 54 Bass Pro Shops locations. Activities include games and crafts, gift card giveaways and sweepstakes along with food sampling and outdoor seminars for the family to enjoy.

Kids can participate in the Metal Detector Treasure Hunt, Casting Buckets and can enjoy the Bass Pro Shops/Daisy Shooting Range and Duck Pond Game. Kids who complete all four activities will be eligible to spin the prize wheel. Face painting and 'color a duck' crafts will also be offered each day.

Seminars:
• 1:30 p.m. Smokin'- Tips for successful meat smoking.
• 2:30 p.m. Outdoor Grilling- Choosing the right grill.
• 3:30 p.m. Dutch Oven Cooking - Tips for outdoor cooking.

Free hot dogs will be available from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. both days, and ice cream from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Visitors can enter to win one of three $25 gift cards, and can enter a drawing for a chance to win a trip to the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Champion's Week in Las Vegas, Nev. One winner in every store and one online will receive a Coca-Cola tailgating prize pack.
