Video: Expelled for Duck Hunting

You may recall the story of California waterfowler Gary Tudesko, who was expelled from high school in November 2009. His supposed mistake? Hunting ducks before school, and leaving an unloaded shotgun in a locked vehicle parked off-campus. Fortunately, National Rifle Association/California Rifle and Pistol Association Foundation attorneys stepped in and argued in favor of common sense. (The lack of common sense shown by Principal Mort Gervett is actually rather incredible. See minute 6:55 of the video below in which he compares Gary's actions to those of a school shooter.)

Duck Hunter's Expulsion Reversed!

As we've discussed here and here, California high school student Gary Tudesko was needlessly expelled back in November after he left an unloaded shotgun in an off-campus vehicle following a morning duck hunt. On Friday, the Glenn County, Calif., Board of Education reversed the decision! Gary received legal representation from National Rifle Association/California Rifle and Pistol Association Foundation attorneys Chuck Michel and Hillary J. Green of the Long Beach-based law firm Michel & Associates, P.C.
