Quest for 450: 441 Falls in Second Day of Florida

Limited to just one bird a day in Florida, Mike Pentecost and his guide, Bobby Carraway, scouted out a group of gobblers the afternoon after killing No. 440. Watching the birds until they roost, the group made their plan for the next morning and returned to camp for a hearty dinner and a good night of sleep. The alarm will wake them early the next morning.

Quest for 450: Take a Break Hunting Tip

During the lull in hunting activity for Gobbler No. 441, Mike Pentecost and his crew used the down time in the field to snack and fill back up on fluids. Unlike a lot of big-game hunting, turkey hunting often takes place in warm or even downright hot weather, and not maintaining a good intake of fluids can run a hunter down and even be dangerous in extreme cases.

Quest for 450: Number 440 Falls

With everything finally lined up and in order, Mike Pentecost headed to Florida to “officially” begin his quest near Yeehaw Junction in Florida with Limestone Outfitters, which only runs a few clients on hunts a year. Mike is good friends with Limestone’s Bobby Carraway and the two have hunted together for several years.
