Anti-Hunter Fires Shotgun at Wisconsin Duck Hunters

Did the charges brought against this anti-hunter fit the crime, and what kind of message does it send to other potentially violent 'animal rights activists?'

Let this serve as a reminder of what we're up against: "Animal rights" activists have banned hunting bears and bobcats with hounds in the state of California. On Wednesday the bill was signed into law by Governor Jerry Brown.

Post Says These Chessies Are "Playing" with Ducks

The Metro section of yesterday's Washington Post contains one of the most unintentionally hilarious news items I've ever seen. Under the headline "Fowl play" appears a photo of a 14-week-old Chessie hungrily chasing down a farm-raised drake mallard. Below that, a 9-week-old Chessie uses its paw to pin a hen mallard and lick her head. The photos, plus some that didn't appear in print, are available online. See photos 6-11 (9 and 10 were print published.)

Save Polar Bears With Responsible Hunting

The Summary: Anti-hunters might think National Review Online blogger Lars Larson hails from the fiery red planet with his ideas, but actually he’s just rehashing the facts when he writes that polar bears, as a whole, would be more likely to thrive under regulated hunting programs (just like they have for most of the last century) than they would under new anti-hunting policies. As of last year, Americans are banned from importing trophy bears from Canada (essentially a de-facto ban on hunting them).

A Supreme Question

Do we have the free speech to write about and show videos of hunting or should the government have the power to prosecute us as it sees fit?
