Iowa Reports Low Pheasant Numbers

According to the Iowa DNR, a harsh winter and a cool, wet spring contributed to the state's extremely low pheasant numbers.

According to officials with the Iowa Department of Natural Resources (DNR), a harsh winter followed by a cool, wet spring contributed to the state's extremely low pheasant numbers. The 2010 August Upland Wildlife Roadside Survey revealed that there are very few pheasants still in the state; there are nearly 29 percent fewer birds present in the state than were recorded last year.
