NM Game Commission Votes to End Trapping Ban

The state game commission of New Mexico has voted in favor of ending a trapping ban in the southwest.

The state game commission of New Mexico has voted in favor of the state Game and Fish Department's recommendation to end a trapping ban in the southwest.


Recently, federal officials have been attempting to reintroduce the Mexican gray wolf in the state.


In the summer of 2010, furbear trapping on the Gila and Apache national forests was banned by former Governor Bill Richardson.
