Photos of a massive 8-point buck bagged by Troy Alan Reinke, 32, circulated around the Web last November. But then the story turned sour. Minnesota conservation officers in November seized the potential world record-book whitetail rack and filed multiple poaching charges against Reinke, a resident of Cannon Falls, Minn. According to the complaint, Reinke admitted to state conservation officers that he shot the remarkable 8-point typical, which had a 185 net green score, on Halloween evening. Reinke, however, allegedly also had shot a doe and a small buck on separate dates in early October, and failed to tag or register either of the deer. Because the first deer wasn't legally tagged, all three are considered taken illegally, according to the county attorney prosecuting the case.
